Seashell Wind Chime Tutorial

Your Kit Includes

 

1 x large pre-drilled seashell

12 x smaller pre-drilled seashells

4 x wooden beads

3 x lengths of waxed cord

1 x hanging cord


 


Step 1

 

Fold the hanging cord in half and tie a knot on the end.


Step 2

 

 

Thread the loop (from inside to out) through the top hole in the large seashell


Step 3

Thread the loop through one of the wooden beads and make a knot at the top of the bead to keep it in place.


Step 4

 

Fold one of the longer cords in half and thread the loop through one of the three holes in the large seashell.

 

 

 

 

 

Take the ends of the cord and put them through the loop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pull the ends tight. Repeat for the other two holes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Step 5

 

Thread the ends of the cords through the remaining three wooden beads.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Make a knot at the base of each wooden bead to keep them in place.

 


Step 6

 

 

Lay out the 12 smaller shells in the order you would like them to hang on your wind chime.


Step 7

 

 

Begin threading the cord through the smaller seashells (from outside to in). It is totally up to you where you want your shells to sit on the cord.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After each shell, tie a double knot to secure it’s placement on the cord.


Step 8

Repeat Step 7 until you have attached all the seashells.


Step 9

 

 

Trim the excess cord from the end six seashells.


Step 10

 

 

 

Project Complete!

You can now hang your chime from a patio hook or ceiling to display.
